Manvers council approves grant and road measures

Minutes from Bethany detail the Manvers township meeting with Deputy Reeve Preston presiding. The council votes a 100 grant to the Manvers agricultural society to ease debt, approves statute labor, indigent list adjustments, and road repairs. A by law appointing 1893 officers is passed and adjournment set for Janetville.

Newcastle Loses an Old Resident

Newcastle Ontario April 4 One of our most respected residents Mr Frederick Farncomb is dead. Born in London England 67 years ago he came to Canada at age two and settled in Newcastle where he has resided. He was postmaster for five years and collector of customs for 25 years. As a prominent Church of England member he served as warden for over 25 years leaving a wife and five children four sons and two daughters eight? five sons and one daughter.
