Winnipeg dispatch notes more than 62,000,000 bushels of this year’s crop marketed. Of this, 46,163,000 bushels reached C P R points with only 4,600,000 bushels in storage though capacity reaches 18,000,000 including C P R and C N R elevators. Transport and storage improvements prevented a railroad or elevator bottleneck this year.
An Ottawa despatch reports the Minister of Justice plans a bill in Parliament next session. Modeled on the Imperial Money Lenders Act the measure would curb usury by authorizing courts to strike excessive interest and refund excess charges. The act also allows indemnity for borrowers or securities.

Representative Hunt of Cincinnati introduced the measure at Miss Anna Hall’s request after her mother died of liver cancer. The House vote was 78 to 2 as the bill moved to a committee. Toronto despatch reports coroner’s inquest into the death of Arthur Rainer. A jury returns an accidental, unavoidable verdict. Dr P J Brown’s testimony affected jurors. The 7 year old boy, struck by a street car, died after pleading for mercy for his mother and father.
London Telegraph Vilna desk reports a Terrorist group member arrested in Vilna and conspirators seized in other cities. Documents show Count Witte and officials like Durnovoe and Doubassoff were targeted, with the plan focusing on Witte to trigger wider disorder and insurrection.
Edinburgh report notes Dr W. E. Robertson and colleagues report experiments since 1902 indicating paralysis and tabes dorsalis are caused by a micro-organism resembling the diphtheria bacillus. The microbe appears in digestive and respiratory tracts and also in blood and cerebrospinal fluid.

Despite cold, a grand mass by Mgr Bruchesi and a 17 gun salute opened a long cortege from City Hall. The 65th Regiment staffed the guard, streets were packed and commerce halted as the city united in mourning with services at St James and Cote des Neiges.
