Mrs. Ward and other local singers will partici- ^ pate in this; it is probable also that bLawrence Sparks, the boy vocalistwhose singing made such a tremendous hit at the fair here last year, will also have a prominent place on the ^ program. aThe concert wiil begin at 8 o’clock t( and will be followed at its conclusion by a pavement dance. There will be i dancing to please all tastes. Some of the most talented dancers in the city will take part with esthetic dances' 2 and there will be old time rounddances with Eli Blough calling.FINE BAND CONCERT3IS RED CROSS AID «L!sCentral park was well filled with ® people Sunday gathered to hear the ®' concert by the Royal Highlanders band under the auspices of the Yeo-| man lodge of Fairfield as a war relief J benefit, while the streets about the park were filled with autos, many of, them apparently having come from a considerable distance .The concert was most enjoyable, the program consisting of greatly varied selections. A feature of the concert was the singing by Bobby j Broiler, who responded to numerous encores. “'Hail to Old Glory,” a late . composition by Prof Jewell, director ' of the Fairfield band, was played with j a spirit to give the composer delight in the rendering. “Here’s to Our J* Boys,” a composition by Clifford V Thoma, was sung by Mr. Broiler to band accompaniment and was greeted ® with great applause. .About $145 above expenses was 1 made by the sale of tags during the n concert and this was given to the local J Red Cross.
