Men inPvt. Christopher J. Hem* phill, son of Mr. and Mrs. William G. Hemphill, 111 Prospect St., Wellington, recently arrived at Ft. Lewis, Wash., to begin eight weeks of basic training at the U. S. Army Infantry Training Center.He is scheduled to complete basic training Nov. 12.Army Pfc. Johnny M. Bowers, 24, son of VirgU N. Bowers, 32932 Webber Rd., Avon Lake, recently completed with honors a 29-week tactical microwave systems repairman course at the Army Signal School, Ft. Monmouth, N.J.Pvt. Bowers attended General Motors Institute. Flint, Mich., and received an M. S. degree in 1970 from Purdue University. 1Pfc. Leland R. Kehl, 20. son of Mr and Mrs. Earl V. Kehl,servicemember of Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity.Navy Lt. (j.g. William J. Dandalides. son of Mr. andMrs. William P. Dandalides of 1305 Root Rd., Lorain, recently visited Singapore aboard the attack aircraft carrier USS Enterprise, operating with the U.S. Seventh Fleet in the Western Pacific.After his visit to the port, the ship crossed the Equator and Dandalides was initiated into the order of Neptunus Rex. Traditionally all Navy men crossing the equator for the first time are initiated into the mythical order.LT.
