Soldiers Win Medals For Rescue of PilotsAllied Headquarters, SouthwestPacific (U.P)—laeut. Gen. George C.Kenney, commander of Allied airforces in this area, has awarded the Soldiers Me*dal to four crewmen who rescued two pilots when their Mitchell bomber crashed in the sea off New Guinea Sept. 9.The mm, Tech. Sergt. Eleutcrio Nava, Santa Fe, N. M.; Staff Sergt. Nicholas Marcinek, Ross-ford, Ore.; Sergt Herbert M. Bil-lington, Palatine Bridge, N. Y., and Sergt. Michael J. Reilly, New York City, escaped from th** -wreckage, tore off part of the plane’s nose section and rescued the pilots.
