bun. May 28 78 58Cadet John R. James To Graduate June 7 from West Point AcademyCadet John R. James, son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard G. James, 180 Poso Street, will graduate from the U. S. Military Academy at West Point Wednesday, June 7.Cadet James, who will receive a bachelor of science degree, was appointed to the Military Academy by former Representative Harlan Hagen. He is a 1963 graduate of Shafter High School.While at West Point, the 21 year old cadet was a member of the French Language, Rocket, Audio,and Triathlon Clubs. James has been assigned to artillery. His rank in the Corps of Cadets at graduation, was sergeant first class.Mr. and Mrs. Richard G. James and daughter Judy, left Monday afternoon on the streamliner for Dallas, Tex., where they will meet his brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. J. L. James, Jr., of Celeste, Tex., and together they will go to New York for the graduation exercises on Wednesday, June 7 for the West Point Academy.They will also attend the wedding the next day of their son on June 8.Cadet James’ grandmother, Mr. J. L. James, 525 Sunny, Shafter and Mrs. Ve6sie Johnson of McKinney, Tex., will be unable to attend the graduation exercises.
