May 18.—The funeral of William Henry Pulliam, the flrst-clss fireman of the United States battleship Utah who was wounded in the fighting at Vera Cruz and subsequently died, was held at Pulaski. Va.. yesterday. Five thousand people attended the services, which were conducted by the Rev. J. T. Trollinger. a veteran of Gen. Jacksons brigade in the Confederate army.
