Tubbs, commander of the 2d division. 2i ships crew, of the Illinois naval militia, bid farewell to his comrades at Armory hall last night, having been obliged to resign the command on account of his change of residence to Maquoketa, Iowa, where he i9 to engage in business for himself. Lieut. Tubbs has been at the bead of the 2d divisiou since its organization; in fact it was largely through his efforts that a branch of the naval militia was located here. Lieut. Tubbs made a feeling talk to the boys and sincerely hoped for the future success of the Rock Island division. As Lieut. Tubbs finished his address a happy surprise was sprung on him. Wilbur Rutledge, in behalf of the reserves, presenting hirn a handsome golden lined silver tea service, the pot of which bears the following inscription: ••Compliments of 2d Division, 2d Ships Crew, N. M. I., to George E. Tubbs. Lieutenant. Commanding.” Junior Lieut. Sam Bowlby will be in command of the division until a successor to Lieut.
