Mr. Murphy Burris, a Confederate soldier of Ramseur, was in Asheboro last week. Mr. Burris is very much interested in the present war and says j that while many wonders have been accomplished he recalls some wonderful things done during the Civil War. He relates one incident of especial interest. When Grant attacked at Cold Arbor he lost fen thousand men in twenty minutes and accomplished nothing.
