Joseph Murray Farnsworth, who died at Delavan March 6, was a younger brother of Gen, Elon J-Farnsworth, who fell at Gettysburg in one of the most desperate, dramatic and useless cavalry charges in military history. J. M. Farnsworthwas born in the slate of Vermont, September 27, 1840. In 1845 he removed with is parents to • Wisconsin, where they settled on a farm in the town of Sharon, aDd here he spent the next fifty-two years of his life. He married, October 30th, 1872, Miss Emma Mereness; and through these more than thirty years their home has been not only a place of singular domestic tenderness and sympathy, hut of ceaseless and varied activities of usefulness.
