Day of Comanche, Route 3, has been awaided the Bronze Star Medal for braved in action according to the following letter received by his mother from Major General Verne D. Mudge:“I recently have had the honor and privilege of awarding your son, Technical Sergeant Ottis G. Day, Troop H. 12th Cavalry Regiment, the Bronze Star Medal.“This medal is an award auth- j orized by Congress and presented in each case by direction of the President, to military personnel for outstanding heroic or meritorious achievement during actual combat against an armed enemy of the United States. I“I take great pride in having Sergeant Day as a member of my command.“Sincerely Verne D. Mudge,Major General,U.S. Army, commanding.” Sgt. Day has a brother, Cpl. Wendell Day, who is also overseas, serving with United States forces in Italy.
