APPOINTED TO NAVYAERONAUTICS BOARDComdr. Weyerbacher to Replace Capt. Cook, Who Goes to Carrier Lexington.Comdr. Ralph D. Weyerbacher,Construction Corps and chief of thematerial division of the Bureau ofAeronautics in the Navy Department,yesterday became a new member of the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics.President Roosevelt authorized the move, under which Ccmdr. Weyerbacher replaces Capt. A. B. Cook, former assistant chief of the Bureau of Aeronautics, who has just been detached to become commanding officer of the aircraft carrier U. S. S. Lexington.Since 1911 Comdr. Weyerbacher has been interested in aviation, for at that early phase of aerial development, he took a course in rigid dynamics, in addition to his regular studies, when he took a post-graduate course in naval architecture in Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Born July 12, 1888, in Boonville, Ind., Comdr. Weyerbacher graduated from the Na-vi Academy in 1909, standing secondin his class.The National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics established by Congress in 1915, furnishes accurate technical data needed for the design of better aircraft and concerns itself with fundamental problems of flight. Serving for the Navy with Comdr. Weyerbacher, will be Rear Admiral Ernest J. King, chief of the Bureau of Aeronautics. #
