Hodges located a friendly rifle company which he led In an attack on the enemy position, killing ’ten and capturing sixty five without a casualty.He is the husband of Mrs, Catherine B. Hodges who resides in Comanche with their young son. The lieutenant is the son of Mr. and Mrs. I. P Hodges of Comanche.The citation read as follows: For gallantry in action in Germany on 29 March 1945, in connection with military operations against an enemy of the United States. On 29 March 1945. while making a reconnaissance near I Rambach. Germany, Lt Hodges, 'an executive officer of a heavy weapons company, discovered an enemy company eating breakfast in a wooded area. While returning to report the information to the ! battalion command post, Lt. Hodges located a friendly rifle company which he led in an attack on the enemy position, killing ten and capturing sixty five enemy soldiers without a casualty. The initiative, courage, and devotion to duty displayed by Lt. Hodges are in keeping with the highest traditions of the armed forces of the United States.
