PRIVATE RAY PORTERSTART, La.. July 30.~lt; Special ~J. D. Pittman of Start this week received a postcard from Private Ray Porter of Start v.ho is now a prisoner o! war being held in Germany. Pittman and Private Porter were verv closei »I friends. The communication was very brief, and conveyed the brief message that Porter was a prisoner in Germany. The card had been mailed March 26.Private Porter, who graduated from Start High school in 1942, is a brotr.ci of Mrs. Lorene McGowan of Start. He entered service last October.
