Jim Casner. retiring director, intoduced “Heinie and extended the appeciation of the chamber of commerce and people of Alpine for the great work he has done in helping to put through the Big Bend park bill. Senator Winfield spoke of the possibilities of the park for all Texas and said he looked at. and worked for. the project as one for Texans and not just for the Big Bend. He also said he had been assured of the completion of Highway 67 in Pecos county inasmuch as it had been designated as a military highway. Sen. and Mrs. Winfield were presented with a table lamp and scenic shade, typifying the Big Bend area, as a token of the appreciation of the chamber of commerce for him and his work.District Judge H.
