Marshall Stimson.When the jeep he was ridingin collided with an American tank on the highway east of Chartres, Treanor was seriously injured and he died in a front-line hospital Saturday, 10 hours after the accident.Treanor’s death brought shocked expressions of regret from all who knew him. A top newspaperman, Treanor was loved for his personal charm, unfailing good nature, -and interest in his fellowmen.Besides his wife, he leaves his mother, three small children, a brother, and a sister.
