\m Ml II SEIIHCOMMISSIONED — Donald E. Barcus (left), son of Mr. and Mrs. E. Dale Barcus, of Granada avenue, receives the gold bar of a second lieutenant from Maj. Raymond Dale at Dugway Proving Ground, Ulah. Lieutenant Barcus, a biologist in the 9771st Technical Service Unit, was commissioned in the Army Reserve branch of the Chemical Corps. He entered the Army last October and has been serving as an enlisted man in the unit. A i954 graduate of the University of California, the 24-year-old lieutenant is a member of Sigma Pi fraternity and was employed by Dow Chemical Corporation, Seal Beach, in civilian life. He was married June 16 to Martha Louise Voght of Muncie, Ind. She is a graduate of Ball State University there and was doing graduate work at the University of Utah prior to the marriage.
