The Sheriffs Officer Turned Pirate of Surrey and Middlesex
A long, lurid tale follows a rogue known as a sheriff's officer who sank into bankruptcy and crime. From single county frauds in Surrey to London schemes in Middlesex he leveraged gaming houses, false arrests, and counterfeit warrants to bilk tradesmen. After a string of brutal deceptions and a life of rapid rise and fall, he finally dies in prison after a spectacular collapse of his criminal enterprise.
