New York Colonial Debates Over Troop Funding Report
A New York field meeting debates granting money to support His Majesty's troops. The majority oppose the vote passed by the Assembly, while a committee is appointed to inform city members of the decision. A letter from involved merchants and representatives opposes funding and calls for constitutional action to protect liberty. The Lieutenant Governor later signs acts to fund troops and duties.
