Liberty and Judge Reform in 1681 Middlesex Note
A long excerpt from Mr Thompson's liberty poem voices alarm at corrupted governance and judicial venality. It cites Locke and constitutional theory, laments arbitrary royal power, and urges citizens to demand upright judges, lawful elections, and respect for property. The piece invokes historical precedents and ends with a New Year’s moral on justice.
