Riots in Ireland Suppressed by Army Deployments
Dublin reports that forces under General Gisborne have moved north to quell insurgents calling themselves Hearts of Steel. The army quarters troops in 46 towns and villages, deterring rioters from bearing arms. Many insurgents attempting escape to Scotland in open boats were turned back as vessels overturned under heavy loads.

Execution of John Lavington for forging brother's will
Bath April 20. On Wednesday John Lavington was executed at the Hcoster gallows for forging his brother Richard Lavington's will. He used the brother's name, kept the forgery secret until the death, and published it to defraud the widow. The two brothers, half-brothers, were near Wells when a hatchet strike and the fatal fall ended the case. he confessed forgery at the tree but denied murder.
