A dense excerpt contrasts fervent support for liberty with fears of licentiousness. It urges balanced governance, warns against violent election methods, and references rights, the Crown, and parliamentary prudence. Names such as McNay and Lutterell appear amid discussions of constitutional limits and royal authority.
The excerpt critiques the search for a strong ministry amid national distress. It laments an ignorant, watching statesman and calls for a stable, virtuous leadership, free from corruption, to guide the country toward reform and uphold the rights of the people.
A historic letter warns Gentlemen Clergy and Freeholders of MTD DE LEXS county against ministerial interference in parliamentary elections. It argues for unity of electors with their own representative and rejects duplicity aimed at dividing opposition. The missive urges steadfast defense of constitutional rights and the ballot against patronage.
