From the London Gazette January issue, a royal order empowers the Dean and Chapter of Bangor Cathedral to elect a Bishop after the death of Rt Rev Dr John Ewer. A letter also recommends John Moore, Doctor in Divinity and Dean of Canterbury, for election to the See of Bangor.
