Missionary Intelligence Ceylon Chronicle Finds Decaying Library
In Mr Carver's journal from Ceylon the mission library at Tranquebar is described as ruined, with a single small press and many volumes worm-eaten. The visit covers the Mission Church built by Ziegenbalg and Greindler, interred missionaries, a seminary near Jaffna with hundreds of students, and ruins at Fort and a Danish church as the town declines.
