Life of a Devout London Merchant and Missionary Spirit
The narrative covers a man who, after moving to the Metropolis, maintained strict conduct despite temptations, marrying into an artist family and starting a small business. He faced trials in raising a large family, yet displayed steadfast faith and patience, aided by Divine Providence. His spiritual view evolved after exposure to evangelical preaching by John Wesley, leading him to join Wesleyan society and a Gathercole-led fellowship.
