Apple fruit foretold doom and Jamaica assault tale
Thomas Mitchel and two companions in Jamaica discover a yellow black‑speckled apple like fruit. They refrain from tasting it. A Black man warns them they are dead men if they ate it. They later join a private expedition near Fort Jago, at the mouth of the harbour, attack after five weeks of siege, and seize the batteries with heavy casualties on both sides.
