Hospital Founding At Golden Eagle Ground 1698
The house known as the Golden Eagle stood where a hospital was later planned. Despite limited funds the founder bought ground opposite the inn and, on July 13, 1698, laid the hospital’s foundation in the name of the Lord. Work began with little provision, yet prayers framed daily toil and weekly pay ends with thanksgiving. The project progressed, and within a year the roof was ready amid faith against unbelief.
