Death of Peacock Scott A Centenarian Shipwright Remembered
From our own correspondent the Melbourne Benevolent Asghur notes the death of Peacock Scott aged 104 at Sanus. Once a skilled ship’s carpenter he helped erect rail fences and early district buildings. He retired to Myermiong Park as honorary caretaker and left tools and a Rustic cradle for cattle, while the Red Cross plans a Jumble Burn fair to aid the community. The local school faced more disruption with substitute teachers and new tutors arranged to ensure steady education for pupils.
