St Bernard Church unveils memorial window at Bacchus Marsh

A large congregation attended the unveiling of a memorial window in St Bernard's Church Bacchus Marsh to honor Thomas Cain who died in 1913 and his wife Mary in 1914. The service featured a sermon by Father O Reilly Castlemaine and a later address by Father Norris St Michael s North Malbourne. The stained glass depicts the Crucifixion with Mary John and Magdalene, a central figure of Christ the Redeemer, and a surviving scene of St Bernard. The work by Mr W Montgomery of Collins Street Melbourne and Alfred Plute supplies the glass and plate, the sanctuary lights bearing four Evangelists. The day ended with Benediction and praised the church for its ornamentation improvements.
