Kerosene Emulsion Used Against Stored Wheat Losses
Annual wheat losses arise from kerosene emulsion use. The recipe calls for one part stock solution to about 60 parts water and thorough spray into cracks. Dry the bin a week before placing grain. Stock solution is made by dissolving soap in boiling water, then adding kerosene and mixing until creamy.
Value of irrigated lands compared with common hay
An analysis shows irrigated alfalfa yields more forage than non irrigated land. One acre irrigated alfalfa produces 10 000 pounds of hay while one acre enclosed pasture yields 500 pounds.
