The beatty aninal picnic drew many from the countryside despite poor roads. Beatty beat Fort la Corn 1 to 0 with a late half goal. In baseball Ethelton defeated Beatty 21 to 11 with forty teens contesting for a $25 purse. Melfort beat Port À la Ourne 28 to 1 and edged Ethelton 8 to 7 in the final. Over $70, after expenses, was raised for the Patriotic fund. Mr Thos Lobb and family left Batordey. Deornze Mann builds a new barn. J Pierson has the contract.

Girl Guides Hold Successful Tea
The Rose Patrol of the Canadian Guides hosted a tea at Lieutenant Mrs H Browne’s residence last Saturday. A large number of citizens attended and enjoyed a pleasant time. The guides wore white costumes and exhibited courteous service in line with the Guide law, with Lieut Browne aided by Miss Wark and Mrs W R Model Tanton, captain of the Melfort troop, presiding at the tea table.
