In 1860 Lower Canada sold 990,026 acres of Crown lands, over twice 1859. Free colonisation grants reached 10,491 acres, up 1430. About 6,897,101 acres remain surveyed but not granted, with more yet unvisited. Clergy lands sold 44,545 acres, over tenfold 1869. Upper Canada sold 126,413 acres Crown lands, 26,300 acres free grants. clergy sales about 2,628, and school land near 10,000 acres. Unsold surveyed Crown lands total 108,074 acres, with school lands about 768,000 acres remaining for sale.
