Melbourne English and Classical Academy Examinations
The pupils of the English and classical Academy in Lomsdale street Melbourne, under Messrs Campbell and MGregor, were examined by Rev Dr Lang, Councillors Kerr and Johnston, and Mr Marsden. The two departments showed thorough tuition in grammar, English, mathematics, geometry, and Latin. Senior classes were led by Mr M'Gregor and Mr Kell. The junior classes studied the map of Palestine, while the senior group read Roma classics and explored English origin and geography. Overall the seminary reflects credit on its teachers, with a wish for larger classrooms and state support. The article also notes the Sydney overland mail time and insolvency notice for Mr Robert Mossman of Melbourne.
