NEW YORK Dec 6 United Press correspondent Robert C. Miller, who fought with U S Marines on Guadalcanal, returned with a wounded arm and said Germans are better fighters than the Japanese. He praised German tactics, training, and equipment, noting Luftwaffe superiority and German fanatic resistance reminiscent of Japanese in the Solomons.
Cedar City Utah veterans led by the VFW post sign a pledge to work in any ammunition plant nationwide during the emergency. More than 60 names are on the list with a goal of 100 for submission to the War Manpower Commission. One signer is Rep Walter K Granger of Utah.
