Trout return to Batt Creek under Armstrong effort
Peter R Armstrong and family backed by the Medicine Hat Fish and Game Association succeeded in stocking Batt Creek headwaters with rainbow trout after years of uncertain success from government hatcheries. Jimmy Russell visiting from Markham joined the expedition and four rainbow trout were caught in an hour, prompting plans to seek ongoing stocking by the department and possible limited fishing next season. Doris died first about 10 30 Beatrice died later while the mother succumbed at three. Neighbor Harry Parslow aided by tossing water and rescuing a baby in its carriage. Walter two was unharmed.

A 37 year old Worcester mother Anna Kandrat temporarily with mental illness attacked with a bread knife fatally injuring her four year old daughter and likely fatally injuring her three year old playmate before surrendering at a police station and saying she had harmed her children. Seven Fatalities Over Weekend In Ontario
