Three United States pilots released by North Vietnam twelve days earlier were welcomed by relatives at Kennedy Airport then taken to military hospitals amid charges the government broke its word. Four antiwar activists blamed the Pentagon at a news conference for failing to grant promised leave after their Hanoi return via China the Soviet Union and Denmark. The activists noted the prisoners had served five months to four years in North Vietnamese camps. Pentagon declined to comment beyond saying the men are home safely in uniform.

Olson freezes farmer loan lending rates in Canada
