A Medicine Hat News analysis suggests 12 months of Canada Centre use had hockey attendance near 3,100 per game rather than the WHL box-score figure of 4,247. Officials cited economy and fewer events as factors while noting 51,300 in 16 major non hockey events and concerts.

Rick Paskal of Van Raay Paskal Farms cites a large disadvantage versus the U.S. and predicts cattle will head south. Alberta supplies about 69 percent of Canada's fed cattle.
