Nominations for October 19 elections closed at noon with ten candidates in the aldermanic field. Incumbents Edwards and another seeking reelection, while Deputy Mayor Osborne retires and Cliff Adam retires, leaving two seats open for new faces. Newcomers include Simpson a former councillor Cluff Webster Niblock School principal Brucker who opposed Mayor Wenner in 1984 Oliphant tourism manager Rod Ray CP tele communications agent and Renner florist. Two last minute entrants are Carry Joyline Trans ot president Mas er lumber dealer Meagher a Conservative runner up in federal election Budison. Veilier was first elected in 1962.
