Six Drowned When Steamer Roberval Foundered Near Oswego
Oswego New York Sept 26 Six members of the crew of the steamer Roberval of Ottawa were drowned when the vessel foundered in Lake Ontario nine miles from Oswego. Three exhausted crew members reached Oswego after nine hours afloat in a lifeboat. Names include Capt Peter Ely owner and master Ottawa First Mate J H Parrissien Alfred Ont Miss Par ent Ottawa Ont Marcell Meffiner and Harry Faquin Hull Que Theodore Leroy Hull Que. The Roberval was 125 feet long with 256000 feet of lumber, steel boat built in Toronto and chartered by Hull and Leah. The vessel left Cape Vincent yesterday afternoon. Continued on page 2.
