Fifth Avenue Memorial Church Declared Municipal Historical Site
Medicine Hat designates Fifth Avenue Memorial Church as a municipal historic site the 14th in the city. Rev. Dave Pollard says the status honors its community role and youth programs while enabling grant access for upkeep and future restoration efforts. The church, built 1911-13 and rebuilt after a 1931 fire, became Fifth Avenue United Church in 1925.
