Medicine Hat native pleads guilty to second degree murder
Brad Cooper, 40, a Medicine Hat native, pleaded guilty at the Wake County Courthouse in North Carolina to the 2008 second degree murder of his wife Nancy Cooper. He admitted killing her and dumping her body in an undeveloped subdivision after a prior jury verdict of first degree murder was overturned on appeal. He will serve 12 to 15 years with six years credit for pretrial custody, with custody of the couple’s two children under consideration.
