Plant closes after 96 years as XL bricks end era
Sissons recalls I XL Brick plant as the heart and soul of the family business. Despite its decline it accounted for 10 to 20 percent of J XL Ltd. and will require up to a year of final work. Alberta Environment holds reclamation duties and the site, in Medicine Hat, sits in a National Historic District. The parent company has no immediate plans for the site.
