Weiner Centre Chosen Over Primrose Drive Plan

Mayor Ted Clugston announced 63,000 residents approved returning to the Weiner Centre with a refurbished VC offering about 15,000 square feet. He cited a $3 to $4 million estimate and said staff will present three options with costs, including refurbishing the VC or pursuing Primrose Drive alternatives.

Bridge project court claim cites unpaid materials after replacement

Lehigh Hanson and Alberta Transportation sue ConCreate USL Inc and Horseshoe Hill Construction over more than 140000 in materials supplied for the Trans-Canada bridge project. The claim, filed June 4 2015, says payment was not made though workers performed. receivership and later replacement occurred in 2012. Local sub contractor Davison Excavating also seeks hundreds of thousands for unpaid invoices. The bridge opened in 2013 with work continuing sporadically.

Harper and Mulcair slam Trudeau over F-35 plan

The leaders clash over scrapping the 65 jet F-35 buy to replace CF-18s. Harper questions Trudeau’s judgment while Mulcair accuses prejudging the tender process. Experts estimate about 44 billion dollars would be spent over the jets’ 40 year lifespan. Trudeau defends options seen as cheaper and proven.
