School district and food bank explore community hub project
Medicine Hat Public School Division and the Medicine Hat and District Food Bank Association are in talks to form a community hub that would offer learning spaces for at risk students and host cooking and nutritional programs. The proposed 8.5 million dollar Community Food and Wellness Centre would feature kitchens gardens a greenhouse and outdoor facilities. The plan aims to expand beyond distributing food to helping generational poverty with career tech learning credits and new partnerships. No timeline is set while partners are identified.
