Vancouver Sept 19 Damages estimated at 250000 were caused to the second Narrows bridge joining Vancouver and North Vancouver when the log carrier Pacific Gatherer crashed into the north span. The accident occurred shortly after 6 oclock and two hours later when the ship was released the span collapsed and dropped into deep water. Bridge officials say new steel will have to be fabricated before repairs can be made and the interruption may last months.
Regina reports that the special committee expanded the Saskatchewan debt adjustment bureau personnel to include all sheriffs as referees in each judicial district before any land foreclosure occurs. The move follows talks with United Farmers of Canada representatives and government members.

Saskatoon Sept 19 A 15 year old boy Billy Jackson was impaled on the blunt handle of a pitchfork when he threw a hay load and leaped to ground. The fork penetrated nine inches through his abdomen at F A Petersen farm near Dundurn. The surgeon called the condition extremely grave and noted the accident is unusually deadly for the West.
The Fish and Game Association will hold a drawing for a Winchester gun and other prizes at City Hall at eight o clock tonight. Aid John Gurrie will announce the lucky numbers. All ticket stubs must be handed in before that hour. Dr Moore will be at City Hall at 7 30 to sell additional tickets.
