Veil ruling prompts calls for voting law change
Canada’s chief electoral officer Marc Mayrand urged Parliament to amend voting laws if needed after saying voters with face coverings would be asked to unveil voluntarily on polling day. He stressed he cannot settle the debate and must follow existing law while upholding religious freedom.
