Tigers warn price hike could push fans away at Event Centre

Medicine Hat Tigers officials say a new 2.15 per ticket user fee proposed by City Council for the Event Centre could deter families in a price sensitive market. The fee, tied to debt funding for a 6,100 seat arena, would be collected by SMG as events occur, with projections based on 80 events and 250000 tickets annually.

Tory hopefuls clash over culture topics in heated debate

Franklin Expedition ship found in Arctic waters

Parks Canada and Ottawa researchers confirmed one Franklin expedition ship has been located in the Victoria Strait. A davit piece bearing Royal Navy markings was recovered by remotely operated equipment 11 metres underwater. Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Royal Canadian Geographical Society officials hailed the discovery as a major breakthrough in the long search for Sir John Franklin’s doomed voyage.
