City staff proposed minor tweaks to the 36 year old noise bylaw but survey results show residents evenly split on restricting loud vehicles. Officials note some interpretations by police will still be needed and a public hearing could be held in October.
The report shows mostly positive feedback from residents with some minor concerns about service consistency, timeliness, and communication. Management notes ongoing improvements and invites residents to submit specific issues for swift action.
Health Quality Council of Alberta reports an overall 8.1 out of 10 in Home Care. In the south zone Medicine Hat area 95 percent of 7171 respondents feel positive with 38.9 percent rating very good 30.7 percent excellent and 24.7 percent good. One in five provincewide say they are not involved in their personal care plan with Home Care. HQCA CEO Andrew Neuner calls this a red flag and an opportunity for quick improvement. In the south zone 16.8 percent say not involved. 3.2 percent feel they do not need involvement. Dr Jim Silvius notes the term may reflect miscommunication rather than lack of care planning.
The Alberta legislature staff hung Alison Redford's portrait without ceremony, then left it in place after ensuring the display. Redford later stated she did not request a public unveiling and chose to let history judge her time in office. The portrait shows her in a maroon jacket and black skirt with a stack of books and the family tartan.
