Funeral service for Senator James Gladstone Canada's first Indian senator will be held Wednesday on the Blood Indian Reserve near Cardston Alberta. He died Saturday at 84 from a heart attack while visiting Fernie British Columbia. Born May 21 1887 at Mountain Mill Alberta he was appointed to the Senate January 31 1958 and retired in 1970. Survived by his wife two sons four daughters 18 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
