Veiner Centre Reopens With Ribbon Cutting At Noon

Medicine Hat plans a noon re opening of the Veiner Centre after a three month flood induced closure during Seniors Week. Mayor Garth Vallely will cut the ribbon at the newly named Parkside Eatery while basement use awaits drying and engineering tests next spring. Weiner and Strathcona Centres offer 45 activities for the 50 plus age group across the two facilities.

Vandalism Damages Three Vehicles in Medicine Hat

Police report three vehicles were damaged in the evenings of September 2 and 3 in the 00 block of Calder Road S.E. and the 100 block of Cypress Way S.E. A blue 1980 Pontiac Firebird had a windshield damaged for about 300 dollars, a 1994 Honda Accord windshield was smashed for about 300 dollars, and a 2000 Honda Civic on Cypress Way S.E. had a rear window and driver side mirror damaged for about 100 dollars. Total damage is roughly 400 dollars. Investigators seek tips from the public or Crime Stoppers.

Alcohol bomb thrown at house in Hamilton Court NE

Medicine Hat police responded to a Hamilton Court North East home on August 31 after a bottle with flammable liquid and a lit paper towel was hurled at the residence. The house did not ignite and no charges have been laid yet as the investigation continues.
